Complete Giant Clam pair from the Indo-Pacific, measuring approximately 40 × 30 cm and weighing approximately 7.2 kg combined.
This pair has a longer, more open form with broad sweeping folds.
She has some staining on the inside. Majority of these vintage giant clams have spent decades in people’s gardens as bird baths or planters. In the 20th century giant clams were predominately used as wash basins. So the staining has a long history of where it’s been.
I have personally given her a good gentle scrub and clean. It is possibly to have it professional bleached. If this is something you would like to have done, I can absolutely get her fully cleaned up for an extra charge but I do not recommend doing it at home. It’s too risky for such an ancient artifact.
