Amethyst, INDIA

$222.00
Sold Out

There’s something special about amethyst from this part of India. With their incredible clarity and glassy lustre, they almost resemble precious jewels which makes sense when you consider they come from the important gemstone belt of Karur, India, a region where aquamarine, emerald, ruby, sapphire, moonstone and other beautiful gemstones are also found.

Each piece is so different. Look closely and you’ll find gem-like clarity, delicate hues of rich purple, lavender, burgundy and violet, sceptre and re-growth habits, etched surfaces, floral formations, floaters and pieces still attached to their natural matrix. Some specimens contain traces of hematite and goethite, while others show later amethyst growth over an earlier generation of colourless quartz.
